To paraphrase Crocodile Dundee; That's not a truck. This is a truck! This is the new Hennessey conversion of the Ford F150 Raptor. Sports 2 turbo chargers and comes in the VelociRaptor 600 and 800 versions. The 600 puts out 602 hp and 622 lb-ft of torque while the 800 pumps up the volume to the tune of 810 hp and 745 lb-ft of torque. Texas knows trucks! I want one! http://www.autoblog.com/2010/06/23/hennessey-slaps-a-pair-of-turbos-on-fords-raptor-6-2-w-video/?icid=main|netscape|dl4|link5|http%3A%2F%2Fwww.aut oblog.com%2F2010%2F06%2F23%2Fhennessey-slaps-a-pair-of-turbos-on-fords-raptor-6-2-w-video%2F
For some reason I've only just noticed this! I've never understood the American fascination for what we term pickup trucks. Here I'd say they're 95% working vehicles which might sometimes get used for social purposes if the person owning it hasn't got a second vehicle - in particular the very much smarter 4 seaters like the Nissan Navara and the Mitsubishi L200 - but other than that they're generally regarded as nothing more than small commercial vehicles. I like the sound of the power-plant in that F150 though - if only it had a different body I do have to wonder what the traction is like though, with such a very light rear end - as the actress said to the bishop!
Midas, can you say 4WD? The stock Raptor was designed as an off road vehicle from Ford's Special Vehicle Operations group.
The perfect vehicle if you need to move grand pianos at breakneck speed.
